A Moorland Album: Edwardian Moorlands seen through the photographs of WH Nithsdale with David Cliffe

Local tax collector WH Nithsdale took his camera as he walked and cycled around the Moorlands, producing a host of memorable images of town and village life before the First World War. David Cliffe has spent a decade researching Nithsdale’s life and collecting his photographs and has published a book of around 300 of the images. The second edition has just been produced with even more local photos.

David will share his enthusiasm for Nithsdale’s life and work at the first History Live meeting of the new year and everyone is very welcome to come along.

We are always looking for cake makers so please contact Elspeth, to help with her planning, if you can either join the regular rota or bake for one meeting. Tel: 01298 83282 or elspeth.walker@virgin.net
